The Varsity Student
There is no “typical” Varsity student. The Varsity Internship Program attracts outstanding students from every background. Although this is fantastic preparation for business majors, hundreds of non-business majors successfully run their own businesses during the summer. Successful Varsity students share a desire to work, to be teachable, and to follow a proven system.
Student Management
The most important level of management in the Varsity Internship Program is the Student Leader. After completing a successful summer, the Student Leader is selected and begins his or her leadership training. Every new student in the Varsity Internship Program works with a Student Leader who leads by example in managing their team during the summer. This ensures that new students are well supervised, and returning students gain invaluable leadership experience.
The Management Team
Every Sales Manager has successfully sold books as a student for several summers. Even the President of SCORE started his business career running his own business selling books during the summertime. Since all the Sales Managers have been successful in the program, they understand the challenges, relate well with the students, and are able to successfully guide and coach students through the summer.
